FolksCon Facts
About Covid
We will not be requiring proof of vaccination or masks to attend FolksCon. Please use your discretion, follow all health guidelines (we do recommend being vaccinated with full boosters), and do not attend any events should you be ill. At the first FolksCon, 5 attendees tested positive immediately after FolksCon concluded.
Drink and Food
Food is your responsibility this year.
Don't bring outside liquor of any kind into The East Side Club - we are charged $350 per occurrence if this happens and may cause the entire event to be canceled on-the-spot. These are The East Side Club house rules and are not negotiable.
You CAN bring alcohol as a gift, but it may not be opened, brought into the venue, or consumed on premises. The bar will be open to sell you hard and soft drinks. Please do remember to tip your bartender, these folks live off the kindness of strangers.
What to bring
Not an inclusive list, but here's some suggestions:
-
Games; there's going to be a LARGE selection of games to play. Consider putting your name on any games you bring, FolksCon Inc. can't be held responsible for missing game pieces or damage to your treasures.
-
Costume; there may not be any prizes for your costume, but you'll sure earn the respect of your fellow folk.
-
Mask; FolksCon is currently not a mask-required event, but better to have one and not need one then need one and not have one.
-
Something to write with; pencil, pen, paper - we'll have limited supplies of these, but help us out and bring one yourself.
-
Folks of an appropriate age; alcohol and swearing will be present. Do regard FolksCon as a PG-13+ event. You are responsible for your children.
Exemplary Behavior
The goal here is to have fun, enjoy each other's company, celebrate 12 years of Beer and Board Games, be safe, and ensure that other folks have the greatest opportunity to experience these things as well.
Alcohol will be present at this event; we'll provide some means (ala Brazilian steakhouse) of indicating whether or not you are amenable to drinking. Respect folks' decision to drink or not drink. Drink within your means. Don't be that person who is not asked back.
Look out for each other. Be nice. Have fun.
